Nile River, June 13(Darfur 24)
The Sudanese army has arrested leader of an armed group in the “Al-Bouqa” area in the Nile River State, after clashes between the two sides resulted in the killing and wounding of 7 individuals.
A military source told Darfur 24 that violent clashes took place on Wednesday evening between a Sudanese army force and an armed group led by Muhammad Ali Ibrahim, announcing the killing and wounding of “7” individuals.
According to a local source, the reasons for the clash that took place yesterday, Wednesday, were due to calls by the Muhammad Ali Group to evacuate the mining areas of companies and traditional miners.
The source who spoke to “Darfur 24” indicated that the group’s leader had previously clashed with the police forces in Al-Bouqa and detained a member of Army Intelligence, confirming that the army had arrested more than 20 armed individuals, including their leader Muhammad Ali, and seized a number of cars.
According to the source who spoke to “Darfur 24,” Muhammad Ali was among the “Sudan Shield” forces led by Abu Aqla Kikel, who announced his bias early in the outbreak of the war to the Rapid Support Forces.
In addition, a local source from the “Al-Bawqa” area said that the man who was arrested is one of the field leaders of the popular resistance that was formed after the outbreak of the war to support the Sudanese army.
He stressed that the group’s leader continued to oppose and mobilize citizens against the control of National Congress officials over the “popular resistance” decision.
