Dilling, June 12(Darfur 24)

Two people were shot dead by gunmen inside their farm in the Hajar al-Nahl area, 6 km east of Dilling city in South Kordofan state, last Sunday.

An eyewitness from Dilling told “Darfur 24” that “the two dead, Abu Janqi, a muezzin in the city of Dilling, and Hammad Ghabush, were killed inside their farm with a bee stone after they were attacked by cowherds who opened fire on them, causing them to be killed instantly while the perpetrators fled.”

The area extending from “Al-Takma Al-Kaldamaya, 3 kilometers east of Dilling, to the Habila Road,” is controlled by the Rapid Support Forces and their supporters from the tribes allied with them, while the southern region adjacent to “Karkaraya and Hajar Jawad, 2 kilometers south of Dilling,” is controlled by factions of the Popular Movement led by Abdulaziz Al-Hilu.

It is noteworthy that such events are repeated at the beginning of each fall season, through contact between shepherds and farmers.
