The UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Clementine Nkwita Salami, called on Thursday for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances and facts of what happened in the “Wad Al Noura” area and bring those responsible for the crimes to fair trial

The village of “Waldalnoura” in Al-Jazeera State was subjected to a massive attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF)on Wednesday, resulting in the death of at least 100 people.

She said that the pictures that appear from Wad Al Noura are heartbreaking, adding, “I have said it before and I will say it again, that wars have rules that must be respected regardless of the circumstances.”

The senior UN fugure called for avoiding armed clashes and the use of explosive weapons in densely populated areas at all costs, and civilians can never be a target.

She added, “The human tragedy has become a distinctive feature of life in Sudan, and we cannot allow impunity to become another case.”

Al-Burhan is threatening

For his part, the Sudanese army commander, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, vowed that the response to the crimes of the Rapid Support Forces against the people of Wad Al-Noura would be harsh, stressing that there would be no negotiation or sitting with the rebel supporters from the Shameless Progress Coordination.

Al-Burhan added, “We have documented videos proving the involvement of the person called Youssef Ezzat and his attempt to record eight statements for radio and five statements for television to announce the seizure of power, and soon it will be owned by public opinion.”

He continued, “We will fight the terrorist Rapid Support Forces until the end, even if the last soldier remains in the armed forces.”

Al-Burhan said in his speech to the officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the 18th Division in Kosti that the armed forces are continuing their battle against these rebel forces, indicating that what happened yesterday in Wad Al-Noura Ghayri will not go unnoticed.

He stressed that the armed forces will not put their hands in the hands of those who committed these atrocities against the Sudanese people, stressing the continuation of this battle until the enemy is defeated and the people are victorious.

He said: “Our message is to advance shamelessly: You will not rule this country while we are in it,” stressing that anyone who puts his hand in the Rapid Support Forces will have no future in this country.
