A number of volunteers in the city of Nyala, the provincial capital of South Darfur state, confirmed that the city of Nyala has received large numbers of civilians fleeing battles in Al -Fasher, the capital of North Darfur during May and June.

A member of the resistance committees, Nyala, north of Muhammad Othman Abbas, explained to “Darfur 24” the arrival of the displaced people from Al -Fasher to makeshift shelters in a number of schools in Nyala, including the Khadija Bint Khuwaylid School in Al -Muaqa’i district, south and Al -Tadamun School and Piety in Al -Tadamun neighborhood, north of the city.

He revealed the arrival of other numbers of the displaced people who taking temporary shelters in Al -Salam and Al -Nahda neighborhood schools west of the city and Al -Zahra School in the Al -Wadi neighborhood, and the reception of other numbers by their relatives in the Draij neighborhood and the Atash camp for the displaced east of the city, and Al -Wahda neighborhood south of the city.

The director of a civil society organization in the city of Nyala, who preferred her identity to be kept anatoumus for security reasons for “Darfur 24” that the organizations stopped working in the shelter centers after the abolition of the state’s humanitarian assistance by the rapid support forces and demanding the registration of the Sudanese Agency for Relief and Humanitarian Affairs to complete the procedures and practice the work that started Since last March without providing any service to the displaced in camps and shelters and the absence of coordination with the state agencies and international organizations, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Humanitarian Aid Commission, the delegation of refugee affairs and international migration, which affects the performance of its work and without the capabilities of it.

The agency considered a military party trying to invest in humanitarian aid and relief.

She said that the agency had disrupted most of the organizations, while some national and international organizations refused to cooperate with them and left the city of Nyala.

The number of displaced people from Al -Fasher was estimated at more than 15,000 displaced people, most of them children, women and the elderly.

For his part, the Humanitarian Aoun Commissioner in the state of South Darfur, Saleh Abdul Rahman Suleiman, confirmed to “Darfur 24” the confiscation of the agency established by the Rapid Support Forces for the UNHCR headquarters, changing the main sign of the headquarters in the auction neighborhood, confiscating cars, stopping workers and laying them down to homes, which necessitated the freezing of the commission’s work in South Darfur.

 

According to “Osha”, it started from the first of last April until last May 31, an estimated 130,000 people were displaced, equivalent to 26,000 families due to the clashes in the city of El Fasher.

The clashes in the northern, eastern and southeastern neighborhoods of the city of El Fasher last May led to the displacement of approximately 90,000 people, or about 18 thousand families.
