El Fasher, June 4(Darfur 24)
Four people were killed last Sunday and Monday, following an attack by armed men on the village of Abu Dakis, west of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, according to eyewitnesses.
Eyewitnesses from the village told Darfur 24 on Tuesday that gunmen on camels back attacked the village and threatened its residents by looting their agricultural crops, which prompted one of the citizens to shoot at them, killing two of them on the spot. However, they attacked the village again the next day, killing two village residents.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the gunmen looted the entire village, including agricultural crops and livestock.
Muhammad Ishaq, one of the village’s community leaders, said that the attackers yesterday were on the backs of camels and horses and looted even the animals and all the belongings of the village residents.
He pointed out that residents are now living in harsh conditions, and some of them have traveled to the “Shaqra” area for fear of a new attack by gunmen on the village.
It is noteworthy that the villages of “Hillat Dalal, Farshlakh, and Hilla Jadid,” adjacent to the village of “Abu Dqis,” were completely burned as a result of artillery shelling during the clashes that took place in the Golo Reservoir, west of El Fasher, the week before last, which caused the displacement of the people.
6 civilians were killed and 7 others were injured as a result of renewed fighting in El Fasher
