El Fasher , June 4(Darfur 24)
3 people were killed and 3 others were injured on Monday after being ambushed by bandits near the “Um Marahik” area, 40 km north of El Fasher, North Darfur, according to eyewitnesses.
Eyewitness ,Hoda Abdullah told “Darfur 24” that an armed group ambushed three cars that were coming from El Fasher towards Mellit carrying citizens fleeing the war, noting that the gunmen forced the citizens to get out of the cars and then isolated the children and women from the men, checked identities, and collected phones and money. Finance Ministry before they opened fire on some of them, killing 3 on the spot and wounding another, before the perpetrators fled towards El Fasher.
For his part, a medical source at Mellit Rural Hospital, who preferred to withhold his name, confirmed to “Darfur 24” that 3 wounded people who had been shot and were in critical condition had arrived at the hospital without providing further information.
In turn, Hana Abkar Musa, the niece of one of the victims, confirmed to “Darfur 24” the killing of her uncle, Youssef Ibrahim Sharif, who works as a guard at the Family Bank, and his nephew Ibrahim Haider Ibrahim Sharif, and one of her relatives, Aladdin Abdel Latif, an employee at the Savings Bank, El Fasher branch.
She said that the victims were on their way from El Fasher to the city of Mellit by car to escape the battles taking place in El Fasher.
