The administration of the Southern Hospital, the only operating hospital in the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, decided to evacuate the wounded and sick from it, after it was bombed on Sunday evening.
Since May 10, there have been continuous battles between the army and its allied movements and the Rapid Support Forces and the militias supporting them in El Fasher, leaving more than a thousand civilians dead and wounded.
Hanan Adam, the medical staff at the Southern El Fasher Hospital, told Darfur 24 that the administration evacuated the patients and wounded from the hospital after it was exposed to stray bullets and intense artillery shelling this evening.
She indicated that the sick and wounded were transferred to health centers and some safe places south of the city.
On Sunday, the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, witnessed clashes between the army, its allied armed movements, and the Rapid Support Forces, leaving deaths and injuries, according to eyewitnesses.
Eyewitnesses told “Darfur 24” that the city witnessed artillery shelling today towards the neighborhoods of Al-Qadi, Tambasi, Al-Salam, Al-Radeef, and the army command in the center of the city.
Citizen Mustafa Farah revealed massive displacement of residents, amid panic, terror, and fear among citizens, as they left homes and shelter centers to the streets.
An Antonov plane belonging to the Sudanese army flew in El Fasher for more than two hours in the evening without any air strikes on the city.
