Port Sudan , May 30(Darfur 24)
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered the popular resistance, the expression of the majority of the Sudanese people, to be included in a conference of civil political forces that Egypt decided to organize at the end of next June.
In a statement obtained by Darfur 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for “the silent majority of the Sudanese people to be truly represented at the conference, whose blood was shed, whose honor was violated, whose property was looted, and who were forcibly displaced, and who are expressed by popular resistance.”
She indicated that she trusts the leadership of Egypt, as it is the most concerned about the security, peace and stability of Sudan and the most capable of helping to reach a comprehensive national consensus among the Sudanese to resolve the current crisis.
She stressed that the basis for participation in the conference should be to affirm the existing legitimacy in the country, maintain national institutions, especially the armed forces, and refuse to weaken or question them.
She added: “It will not be acceptable to the Sudanese people for the sponsors of the terrorist Rapid Support militia who continue to supply it with lethal weapons, or the neighboring countries that partner in passing and transiting weapons flights from the UAE to Chad through Umm Djeres Airport, which was prepared for the entry of these supplies and from there to Darfur,” to attend the conference. .
She continued: “Also, the Sudanese people will never accept the representation of any regional or international organization that has been silent about condemning the crimes of the terrorist militia and its grave violations of international humanitarian law and human rights in its various aspects, even in the capacity of an observer.” The same applies to countries that have become a base for the militia’s propaganda and political work and for laundering its money, which it obtains from plundering and smuggling the country’s wealth.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Sudan is committed to not participating in the African Union and IGAD in the conference, unless the freeze on Sudan’s activity in the continental organization is lifted, and that IGAD corrects its position that violates Sudan’s sovereignty.
