Addis Ababa , May 30(Darfur24 )
Chairman of the Sudan Liberation Forces, Al-Tahir Hajar, has accused the army’s military intelligence of working to transform the conflict in El-Fasher into a tribal war between the Arab tribes and the Zaghawa.

Since May 10, continuous clashes have been taking place between the army and its allied movements and the Rapid Support Forces and the militias supporting them in El Fasher, in which more than a thousand civilians have been killed or wounded.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the founding conference of the Coordination Body for Democratic and Civic Forces “Taqaddum” in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, Hajar said “the heavy presence of Islamists and remnants in El Fasher, after their displacement from the areas controlled by RSF and their formation of the Army Support Committee, was one of the tools of sedition.”

He added: “We have real information that military intelligence is working to transfer the war again to Darfur, and is also working to create strife between the armed movements that signed the Juba Agreement and the Rapid Support Forces RSF, and is also now working to ignite strife between the Arab tribes and some Zarqa tribes, especially the Zaghawa.” .

Hajar Also confirmed that the armed movements who declared fighting alongside the Sudanese army are the remnants of the former regime, and do not represent the Zaghawa tribe, indicating that the tribe is not party to the conflict.

He continued: “Any person sitting in Port Sudan busy buying and selling debts and not believing in a cause. If we had wanted that, we would have maintained our constitutional positions until now, but our lack of belief in the war made us stand against it.”

He stated that the Al-Fasher issue has a strategic dimension for the army’s military intelligence, and it is working on that.

Hajar confirmed that his forces did not and will not participate in the war, saying, “Our forces are located on the southeastern side of El Fasher and north of the Zamzam camp, and we also have forces with the joint forces on the western side.”

He added: “We did not fight with the RSF and if I wanted to, I would have announced it officially, but I do not believe in this war and we will not participate in it.”

He explained that any person who does not stand and fight with the army or demand an end to the war is accused of being with the Rapid Support Forces, including the Advance Coordination Committee, which they accuse of being the political incubator.
