Seven people were killed and others injured during as Sudanese army launched air strike on the cities of Kabkabiya, Kutum and Al-Koma in North Darfur, western Sudan.
The air strikes, which were launched on Tuesday night, targeted the Kutum Teaching Hospital and the Khalil Nasr Medical Clinic in the city of Kabkabiya, three houses in the Umm Sayala area, rural Kutum, and a site near Al-Kuma Market.
Civil activist Abdel Malik Musa told “Darfur 24” that military aircraft targeted the Kabkabiya area, 136 km west of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, with three explosive barrels that they dropped on a private clinic.
He pointed out that the bombing of the dispensary killed 4 people on the spot: Muhammad Suleiman Balah, 58 years old, a worker at the dispensary, Abdullah Ibrahim Baraka, 32 years old, a worker at the dispensary, Ali Muhammad Ali, 27 years old, and Nasser, 18 years old.
He added: “There are wounded who have not been accounted for yet.”
Abdul Malik stated that the aircraft targeted the Grand Market, Al-Shaheed neighborhood, and a kindergarten in the city center, without causing any casualties.
Abdul Malik said that the aircraft targeted three houses in the Umm Sayala area in rural Kutum, killing 3 people.
A medical source at Kutum Hospital, 120 kilometers northwest of El Fasher – who preferred to withhold his name – told “Darfur 24” that the warplanes targeted the building of the gynecology and maternity ward and the hospital’s electricity system.
It was revealed that one person was injured and the electrical power was completely destroyed after the bombing.
He stressed that the aircraft targeting the hospital for the second time is an act that must be condemned as it is a civilian facility that receives civilians but not military personnel.
He added: “Since last March, we have been receiving patients and women outside the hospital as a precaution against aerial bombardment.”
In Al-Komah locality, 76 kilometers northeast of Al-Fasher, the head of the local Youth Entrepreneurs Committee, Saleh Haririn (Darfur 24), reported that aircraft had targeted a site near the city market with explosive barrels, without causing damage to lives or property.
