Addressing a meeting of the group of creatives within the activities of the founding conference of the “Taqaddum” coordination, currently held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, that “Sudan is going through an existential crisis, and if it is not remedied, we will not find a homeland.”
Hamdok called for strengthening the resolve to face the challenges by creating a broad front to stop the war, noting that the Progress Coordination Committee does not represent all Sudanese, but it is a project in the right direction.
He said that the founding conference to coordinate progress had never happened in the history of Sudan in that more than 600 people had never met outside the country regarding a Sudanese issue, noting that what brought them together was a sense of the danger of the situation facing the country.
The founding conference of the “Taqaddam” coordination was launched in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on Monday, with the participation of more than 600 people from inside and outside Sudan, representing political forces, civil society organizations, professional sectors, civil administrations, and Sufi orders.
The founding conference, which concludes its work on Thursday, will dissolve the new leadership body, after which temporary transitional structures will be formed, which in turn will choose a new leadership body for coordination. The conference will also adopt a vision and political program to address how to stop the war and establish the Sudanese state.
