A member of the leading body for the Coordination of Democratic Civic Forces,(Taggadum )Babiker Faisal, revealed that regional and international efforts are underway to include the former ruling National Congress Party NCP in the upcoming political process, stressing(Taggadum) categorical rejection for inclusion of NCP in any future governance.

Babiker said in an interview with Darfur 24 to be published later, that “the Taqaddam coordination will present its political vision, which includes a vision for designing a political process with its parties and a round table, and everything related to the issues under discussion, to the Sudanese people, the political forces, and all regional and international actors and communities.

He pointed out that there were previous attempts by the UN envoy to Sudan at the time, Volker Peretz, to involve the National Congress NCPand its facades, but they failed after the Forces of Freedom and Change boycotted them at the time.

He added, “This matter will be repeated again if they insist on involving the Islamic Movement and the National Conference. We will not submit to any kind of pressure from regional or international parties, and at the same time we are open to all political forces except the National Conference, even those who are now contributing and participating in the war.” We have no objection if they announce their abandonment of the war. They can join the political process.”

Faisal explained, “The National Congress party is not a political party. Rather, it has armed entities, brigades, and militias fighting at this moment on the ground. This is a party that has a solid military core present in the security and military sector, and now it controls the state apparatus and the government bureaucracy in Sudan.”

He said: “Therefore, if there is no guarantee to restrain the party in all these matters and uproot these privileges from it, we will continue to revolve in a vicious circle and will not reach an effective democracy. Therefore, we will not respond to blackmail, and we will strive with the masses of the people and all forces to put pressure towards removing this party from any upcoming future political process.
