Port Sudan, May 23( Darfur24)

Chairman of the popular delegation supporting the Sudanese army, Prince Hassan Abdul Hamid Al-Nur, accused the SPLM, led by Abdul Aziz Al-Hilu, of refusing to deliver humanitarian aid to the two areas ( ), because of what he described as an impossible paper.

The round of negotiations between the Sudanese army and the SPLM regarding the delivery of humanitarian aid to South and West Kordofan and the Blue Nile reached a dead end while the two sides of the negotiation exchanged accusations and collapsed.

The head of the popular delegation supporting the Sudanese army, Hassan Abdel Hamid, told “Darfur 24” that “the SPLM is the reason for the faltering negotiations because it presented a paper containing impossible points,” he said.

He added, “We accuse the Popular Movement of primarily causing the refusal to deliver humanitarian aid to citizens in the two regions.”

He stated that “the popular delegation does not stand with the army or the Popular Movement, but rather stands primarily with the interests of the citizens and against any party that obstructs the interests of the citizens.”

He pointed out that the popular delegation made every effort to deliver humanitarian aid to citizens in the affected areas of South and West Kordofan and the Blue Nile, explaining that the popular delegation was not a party to the negotiations that took place between the Sudanese army and the SPLM.

The Sudanese Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Yassin Ibrahim, attacked the SPLM after the suspension of the last round of negotiations in Juba, and said, “The Popular Movement was stubborn, reneged, and refused to sign the document to deliver humanitarian aid to citizens affected by the war in the two regions. It also presented any draft agreement, and its response to the government’s draft came.” Structurally, it did not include the fundamental issues related to delivering aid to citizens in the states concerned.”

The SPLM responded to the accusations through a statement in which it questioned the army’s readiness to deliver humanitarian aid. The statement added, “The Port Sudan government delegation consists of the Minister of Defense and 4 officers from the General Intelligence Service, and I do not think that their mission is to deliver humanitarian aid.”

The removed statement by the spokesman for the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement delegation, Jatigo Amoja Dilman, confirmed that the Port Sudan government’s proposal is basically an air bridge to deliver what is believed to be aid to the Presidency of the 14th Division – Kadugli, the Presidency of the 22nd Division – Babanusa, and the Presidency of the 10th Division. – Abu Jubaiha, while the rest of the proposal consists of security measures and military technical committees to manage the joint forces that will protect the airports of the cities mentioned in the proposal, according to the statement.
