Four children were killed Wednesday, as a result of an air strike launched by the Sudanese army on the city of Kabkabiya, west of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, according to Darfur 24 sources.

The sources said that the Sudanese Army Air Force launched air strikes today, Wednesday, targeting gatherings of the Rapid Support Forces in the city of Kabkabiya, 136 km west of El Fasher, and a number of sites inside the city, resulting in deaths and injuries among civilians.

The sources confirmed that one of the air strikes targeted a building in the vicinity of the market and west of the hospital, causing the death of 4 children after they fled in panic from inside the market in conjunction with aircraft flying over the city’s sky, before they were all killed as a result of the raid.

It is noteworthy that the Sudanese army aviation also launched several air strikes on sites north and east of the city of El Fasher, which is witnessing fierce battles these days between the parties to the conflict.

For its part, the Rapid Support Forces announced, in a statement on the “X” platform, that the Sudanese army’s warplanes bombed the city of Kabkabiya in North Darfur state, today, Wednesday, killing a number of children and women and destroying homes.

The statement said that the deliberate air strikes on innocent civilians fall under the category of terrorist acts and violate all international and humanitarian laws, and also reflect the state of the army “kidnapped” by extremist elements of the former regime seeking to destroy the Sudanese people and infrastructure, according to the statement.

The statement added, “The sight of children’s body parts scattered over the rubble of destroyed homes in Kabkabiya as a result of the air strike on innocent citizens confirms the state of frustration and despair that possessed the army leaders due to the defeats they suffered on all battlefields.”

Earlier today, Wednesday, three women from one family were killed and 6 others were injured following renewed clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the vicinity of Naivasha camp, north of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.

Eyewitnesses from the Naivasha camp told “Darfur 24” that the clashes between the army, the armed movements allied with it, and the Rapid Support Forces, renewed since ten in the morning after members of the Rapid Support Forces stationed north of the city infiltrated the camp, before taking advantage of the rooftops of houses to record the army’s positions.
