On Monday, the Hajj delegation left West Darfur, heading to the Holy Land via the neighbouring State of Chad.
The Sudanese authorities decided to start transporting Sudanese pilgrims next Saturday, through Port Sudan Airport and the Suakin sea port.
Secretary of the Hajj delegation in West Darfur State, Habib Al-Numair, who spoke during the farewell of the pilgrims, said, “We thought that with the harsh conditions that the country is going through due to the war, we would not be able to perform Hajj this year, but thanks to the efforts that were made, we were able to complete the procedures for 37 pilgrims.”
He attributed the choice of pilgrims traveling through Chad to the security risks that hinder the pilgrims’ travel from El Geneina to Port Sudan.
He pointed out that all procedures for transporting pilgrims from N’Djamena to Saudi Arabia have been completed.
