On Saturday, the former Prime Minister and head of the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces “Taqaddum”, Abdel Hamdok, and the leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement, Abdel Wahid Mohamed Nour, signed the Nairobi Declaration, which stipulated joint action.

Hamdok and Nour discussed, on Friday and Saturday, in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

The Nairobi Declaration, which was obtained by Darfur 24, stipulated joint work to confront the risks threatening Sudan and find sustainable solutions.

The declaration specified the directions of joint action, which included ensuring Sudan’s sovereignty over its land and resources, its unity based on the voluntary basis of its people, and decentralized democratic governance.

He called for the establishment of a secular state that stands at the same distance from religions, identities, and cultures and recognizes diversity, as well as the establishment of a new military and security system that adheres to internationally agreed upon standards.

The Declaration recognized the right of peoples to their own destiny if the principles of these principles were not included in the permanent constitution, which included the establishment of a federal democratic civil rule.

The two parties agreed to hold a round table in which national forces that believe in the principles of democracy would participate. They also urged the people to stand against hate speech and harming the societal fabric.

The declaration called on the army and the Rapid Support Forces to immediately cease fire in preparation for a permanent cessation of the war, in serious cooperation with regional and international efforts, including the Jeddah Platform.

He stressed the importance of the warring parties adhering to their responsibility before international humanitarian law, by removing obstacles to humanitarian aid and allowing relief to pass through neighboring countries and front lines to ensure it reaches all citizens.
