El Fasher, May 11( Darfur 24)

Dozens of civilians were injured as clash renewed Friday in El-Fashir , North Darfur between the Sudanese army, armed movements on one hand and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the other hand , according to the El Fasher Emergency Room.

Mariam Muhammad Ahmed, a member of the emergency room at the Southern El Fasher Hospital, told Darfur 24 that the hospital received dozens of injured civilians following the violent clashes that El Fasher witnessed on Friday.

She confirmed that the wounded were transferred to Al-Fasher Southern Hospital as a result of being hit by shells and stray bullets. Some of them require urgent surgical intervention and operations.

She stated that the lack of ambulances and the continuation of confrontations limit the arrival of the wounded, which puts their lives at risk.

It called on the parties to the fighting to open safe corridors for medical teams to enter to evacuate the wounded, especially the Masnaa and Al-Wefaq neighborhoods.

According to eyewitness Abdel Hafeez Ibrahim to Darfur 24, the Sudanese army and the joint force of the armed movements attacked the bases of the Rapid Support Forces in the Masnaa and Al-Wahda neighborhoods north, amid extensive use of weapons, heavy artillery, and bombers in the neighborhoods of Al-Jawam’a, Al-Safa, Al-Timanat, and the northeastern part of the city of El-Fasher.

Abdul Hafeez said that columns of smoke were seen rising in the neighborhoods of Al-Wahda, Al-Wefaq, and Al-Masani.

According to the El Fasher Emergency Room, the city witnessed intermittent clashes yesterday morning, Thursday, which led to the death of a child and the injury of his family members by a shell that hit their house in the Dem Silk neighborhood, northeast of the city.

The city of El Fasher witnessed calm after the fighting between the army and the Rapid Support stopped for more than a month, after UN and international warnings not to attack El Fasher.

The Rapid Support tightened the siege on the city after mobilizing thousands of fighters to attack it.
