Ibrahim Abdullah Muhammad, from Umm Marahik area 40 km north of Al -Fasher, the provincial capital of North Darfur state saud Rapid Support Forces ( RSF) had detained 7 community leaders since April 20 until now.
Ibrahim told Darfur 24 that a force consisting of 17 four -wheel drive vehicles stormed the area last April and beat and terrorized local residents then arrested 37 community leaders, and youth representatives in the area then took them to the city of Melt, before releasing 30 of them, while the fate of 7 others is still unknown.
They were arrested at the backdrop of the killing of 5 nomads last March by the joint force of the movements stationed in Umm Marahik area.
He stated that the joint force withdrew to Kurnawi without finding solutions to the problem.
He appealed to RSF to release the detainees and sit with the people to find out the full facts.
