The Sudanese army commander, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said on Tuesday that “there will not be any political process until the war in the country ends.”
Addressing army soldiers, in the city of Meroe, in northern Sudan, Al-Burhan said “there will be no peace in Sudan until the Rapid Support Forces leave the areas they occupied and go to areas that accept them.”
Al-Burhan criticized those who accused those affiliated with the resistance of igniting the war, saying, “The war was ignited by those who carried weapons, killed innocent people, and displaced citizens from their homes.”
Al-Burhan confirmed that the army will continue fighting and continue its advance to the city of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur state.
Al-Burhan arrived in the Northern State as part of his state tours of divisions and units, and inspected the officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the 19th Infantry Division in Marawi. He also received enlightenment about the overall security situation in the state.
In addition, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army, Lieutenant General Shams al-Din Kabbashi, continued his inspection tours of the front lines in al-Jazira, Gedaref and Sennar.
He arrived on Tuesday evening in the city of Sennar, accompanied by Major General Muhammad Abbas Al-Labib, Deputy Director of the General Intelligence Service, after a tour that included Al-Faw, Kosti, and Al-Manaqil.
Kabbashi received additional enlightenment about the conduct of military operations on the front lines, according to the Sudan News Agency.
