Port Sudan, April 28 ( Darfur 24)
Spascex, the company that operates the satellite Internet, “Starlink,” has backtracked from the decision to stop its services in Sudan.
The company decided to stop the service in Sudan and other countries as of April 30, by sending emails to subscribers notifying them of this.
Hadrin Organization said, in a statement obtained by “Darfur 24”, on Saturday: Spascex has decided not to stop its services on April 30.
Hadrin indicated that it had not received confirmation whether the company would withdraw from the decision to permanently stop satellite Internet services or whether it would be subject to review in the future.
Hundreds of areas in Sudan, especially in Darfur and Kordofan, depend on the satellite Internet service provided by Starlink devices, due to the absence of local telecommunications company services in these areas.
Hadrin Organization said that it was able to secure the cost of the central kitchens that provide food in Khartoum State, due to its fears that Starlink services would stop before the operating company retracted the decision to stop the service in Sudan.
Most of the Sudanese stranded in Khartoum State now secure their food from central kitchens established by emergency committees as part of the many services they provide to those affected by the conflict.
