Merowe, April 25(Darfur 24)
The Guidance and Services Division, led by the 19th Marawi Division, announced that three reconnaissance drones had been monitored by the army base in the “Um Bakool” area, 70 kilometers south of Marawi in the West Bank.
The division said in a press release, “On Wednesday, April 24, 2024 AD, at two o’clock in the afternoon, three small reconnaissance drones were spotted flying at high altitudes from west to east by focusing our forces in the Umm Bakool area, 70 kilometers south of Merawi.” In the West Bank, where it was dealt with with ground missiles, its mission was thwarted, and it fled.”
It reassured the citizens of Marawi District that such aircraft do not pose a danger if they are detected, dealt with, removed, or shot down.
The Division confirmed that radars and jamming devices monitor and follow up such objects and are dealt with using ground-based anti-aircraft guns.
It called on all citizens to immediately report to the nearest point or base of our forces if they see any strange objects in the skies of Marawi locality.
On Tuesday, the army said that it confronted two marches that targeted its base in the city of Shendi, in the Nile River state in northern Sudan, without revealing the source of its launch.
The 3rd Infantry Division said that its explosive devices were destroyed from the air, and the rest of the parts fell in part of the division’s airport buildings, without causing any damage or injury to lives or equipment.
She added: “About an hour after the first was destroyed, it was announced that a second enemy march had been monitored, and it was dealt with with air and ground flashes, destroying and hitting air explosive devices, and parts of them also fell around the airport buildings without causing any damage or injury to lives and equipment.”
There are fears of the increasing use of marches targeting military headquarters inside densely populated cities, after the Al-Baraa bin Malik Al-Ramadani Brigade’s Iftar breakfast in Atbara, in the north of the country, and the headquarters of the General Intelligence Service in Gedaref State, east of the country, were targeted with marches.
