PortSudan, April 14(Darfur24)Governor of Darfur region Mini Arko Minnawi has urged the people of Darfur region to defend Elfashir, the provincial capital of North Darfur state from Rapid support forces RSF imminent storming.
RSF have been trying for a while to storm the city of Elfashir so as tighten its grip on the great Darfur region,
after imposing its domination on the states of South Darfur, West Darfur, Central Darfur and East Darfur.
Speaking on a televised address, Minnawi said,”we urge the people of Darfur to defend Elfashir so that the latter can become starting point to liberate the rest of the land”.
He pointed out that he closely follows the threads of attacking Elfashir which was preceded by several incidents where innocent people were killed, affirming that “Elfashir will remain bacillus”
Adding that he had had no desire become party in the war, but after the invitation, violation, provocation we decided to defend our country .
Minawi who chairs Sudan people liberation movement relinquished neutrality, announcing that he was fighting along side the Sudanese army against the RSF.
