Khartoum , March (Darfur 24)The Sudanese army said, on Monday, that it had repelled an attack by the Rapid Support Forces RSFon the Signal Corps in Khartoum North, which was the second of its kind this week.

The Rapid Support Forces are trying to control the Signal Corps, to cut off the army’s supply of its forces stationed at the General Command in Khartoum, which arrives from the Hattab base in Khartoum North.

The army said, in a statement obtained by “Darfur 24”, that the Signal Corps forces defeated the enemy militia and inflicted on it heavy losses in equipment, as it received two tanks from it, and dozens of its members were killed.

He pointed out that he destroyed two tanks, an armored vehicle, and an artillery in Al-Amal Hospital, which is very close to the headquarters of the Signal Corps, which is a hospital owned by the General Intelligence Service.

Army Colonel Ibrahim Al-Houri said that artillery and warplanes thwarted the Rapid Support attack attempt on the Signal Corps, forcing it to retreat north to the Halfaya area.

The army revealed that special action forces in the Armored Corps in the Al-Shajara military area carried out qualitative operations, as they destroyed a base for the Rapid Support Forces and expelled them from civilian homes and civilian objects in the Jabra neighborhood, south of Khartoum.

The army talks about its transition from defending its headquarters to attacking to expel the Rapid Support Forces from the bases and institutions they controlled, as it was able in the recent period to regain control of the radio and television headquarters in Omdurman.
