8-year-old girl, “Malak,” was killed Friday, after being hit by shrapnel as a result of airstrikes launched by Sudanese army warplanes on the city of El Fasher, North Darfur.

The aerial bombardment also injured three other civilians, according to eyewitnesses who spoke to “Darfur 24,”

The child’s relative, Malak, told Darfur 24 that fragments of a shell hit the child inside their house in the “Dim Silk” neighborhood, north of the large market in the city of El Fasher, leading to her immediate death.

Today, Friday, the Sudanese Army Antonov plane flew over the city of El Fasher for more than an hour, during which it fired more than 12 shells at the northeastern neighborhoods under the control of the Rapid Support Forces.

The Rapid Support Forces fired heavy anti-aircraft guns, with strong earthquakes caused by aircraft shells.

Eyewitnesses told “Darfur 24” that the aircraft targeted the positions of the Rapid Support Forces in the relevant neighborhoods, and also caused the destruction of a number of homes in parts of the neighborhoods of “Dim Silk, Al-Ma’adhi, Al-Usra, Al-Mina Al-Bari, and Al-Borsa.”

Today’s raid on the city of El Fasher is the second this March, the fifth this year, and the eighth since the beginning of the fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in April last year.

Last Wednesday, military aircraft launched an air strike on the city of El Fasher, targeting Rapid Support Forces positions in the eastern and northern neighborhoods.

According to medical sources, the aerial bombardment left a number of dead and wounded among civilians and destroyed dozens of homes in the city.
