Zalingei , Feb 22 (Darfur 24)The parties to the conflict in the Nertiti and Khor Ramla areas, west of Jebel Marra, Central Darfur State, signed a document declaring principles to stop all forms of hostilities.
The areas west of Jebel Marra witnessed violent armed clashes between nomadic Arabs and residents of the Nertiti region, who hail from the Fur tribe, amid accusations of the involvement of the Rapid Support Forces, the Sudan Liberation Movement forces, the Abdel Wahed Mohamed Nour wing, and the forces of Al-Sadiq Faka, in supporting the parties on an ethnic basis.
The mediation committee, headed by Mayor Hassan Arabi, held a conference between the components of Nirti and Khor Ramla in the areas west of Jebel Marra in Central Darfur State.
The parties agreed to stop all forms of hostilities and to reject hate speech and racism, provided that the reconciliation would be a “white peace” without mentioning any financial or in-kind demands.
The agreement to stop hostilities included the exchange of prisoners between the two sides, the opening of the Nertiti and Khor Ramla markets and all the main crossings, and the formation of a committee for consultation and thinking with the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudan Liberation Movement.
The forum was attended by the Rapid Support Commander, Major General Ali Yaqoub, the President of the Zalingei People’s Court, Prince Mahmoud Sousal, and Al-Shartay Abu Al-Qasim Siwar.
