El Fasher, Feb 6(Darfur 24)On Monday, Darfur 24 monitored a large displacement movement from the northeastern neighborhoods of El Fasher city, the capital of North Darfur state, following the clashes that took place between the army and the Rapid Support last week.

 

“Darfur 24” monitored the expansion of the Rapid Support Forces and their positioning in the neighborhoods of (Al-Ghaba, Al-Shuhada, Al-Takamul, Al-Thawra North, Khor Sial, Al-Ziyadiya and parts of the Dem Silk neighborhood) northeast of the city. Following the clashes that took place between them and the army last week, which forced dozens of families to flee from these neighborhoods.

 

Some of those fleeing reported to Darfur 24 that the Rapid Support Forces took control of their homes, and some of them were stationed in the squares in the middle of the neighborhoods, forcing them to flee to the southern neighborhoods to escape the battles.

 

Some of those fleeing arrived at temporary shelter centers for displaced people from Tawila and Kutum localities and the city of Nyala.

 

Halima Adam (30 years old), a mother of two daughters, said that the Rapid Support Forces asked her to leave her home in the Al-Shuhada neighborhood, and she is now sleeping outdoors in the shelter for displaced people at the Ali Bin Abi Talib School in the Abu Shouk neighborhood.

 

Fatima Ali (40), a mother of three children, indicated that the Rapid Support Forces shared her home in the Takamul neighborhood, which forced her to leave the house completely last Friday.

 

In this context, Saleh Yahya (50 years old) said that the Rapid Support Forces took control of the majority of the homes in the Al-Ghaba neighborhood since last Thursday, and residents were forced to leave their homes and migrate to the Tempasi School and the Al-Ittihad School, south of Al-Fasher, amid extremely complicated conditions due to the scarcity of food in the shelter centers.

 

Yahya pointed out that the Al-Ghaba, Al-Shuhada and Al-Takamul neighborhoods are witnessing motorcycle activity, used by children on alert in the Rapid Support ranks who are looting property from homes after the residents have left them.

Meanwhile, “Darfur 24” monitored a

continuous movement of families in the Mellit area. She intends to travel outside El Fasher.
