PortSudan, Jan 22(Darfur24)Al-Sudani newspaper said that a member of the Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Atta, directed the formation of joint brigades between the Sudanese army and volunteers to confront the rebel Rapid Support Forces.
Addressing crowds of army supporters in North Omdurnan, Al-Atta also appealed to the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, to file a complaint with the Arab League, the African Union, Islamic Cooperation, the United Nations, the Security Council, and all international courts against the UAE. He added: (Some of the Sudanese people have filed a complaint. Against the Emirates, the Janjaweed, and Chad to the International Criminal Court.. Al-Atta added, standing up for the Sudanese lady, “We are fighting the Emirates and mercenaries from Yemen, Syria, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Chad, Libya, Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso.”
Al-Atta explained that they did not ask any Mustafar member about his classification or party. He added, “We have the Independent Resistance Committees, the Qadboun group, and large groups from the Islamic movement, and we have large groups pushed by the honorable brother Abdul Rahman al-Sadiq al-Mahdi from the Ansar Youth, the Umma Party, the Askouri Party, Mubarak Ardoul, and the armed movements. We have independent citizens, and we have the Popular Movement, Abdul Aziz al-Hilu, who coordinates with us.” In South Kordofan, we have with us all the tribes and most of the Sufi orders, with us most of the Sudanese people and the various political parties… and we are moving in the direction of victory.”
Al-Atta revealed that the strength of the army in Khartoum before the war was 37 thousand, while the rebel forces were 120 thousand, and before the war there was an increase of 46 thousand. After their loss, they began to bring between 7-9 thousand mercenaries weekly from West Africa, but, God willing, their affairs will end in this good land. We are fighting to defend our homeland, our honor, and our land.”
He added: “Our forces are fighting fierce battles in the city of Wad Madani, and soon the state of Al-Jazira will be free from the rebellion.”
