The Khartoum Bank administration has put 1215 bank employees on unpaid leave which represents about 45 % of the workforce.
The Khartoum Bank administration put the separation option based on the performance evaluation within three options to deal with the fate of the bank’s employees, who number about (3) thousand workers; Distributing (125) branches of the wider bank in the country.
According to the bank’s manager’s statement; Lamia Satti told “Darfur 24” that the administration was able to avoid the application of the separation mechanism based on the performance evaluation and replaced it with open holidays.
The administration has kept 1594 employees covering the service in all branches of the bank, while a very limited number of resignations provided.
According to a previous statement to the bank’s administration, the bank’s losses – fraudulent so far – amounted to one hundred million dollars.
The bank’s branches in Khartoum were subjected to unprecedented looting with the outbreak of the war on April 15.
A study of the American Food Policy Institute expected a loss of 5.2 million jobs in the country due to the war, which is nearly half of the country’s workforce, based on the losses of industry sectors, services and agriculture.
