Khartoum , Nov.29(Darfur 24)The National Fund for Medical Supplies branch in White Nile State received on Wednesday 3 containers loaded with emergency medicines and free treatment belonging to the National Fund for Medical Supplies, according to the Fund’s plan aimed at addressing the issue of improving the availability of medicines in the country’s supply chain.

The branch director, Dr. Muhammad Abdel-Baqi, told Darfur 24 that the shipment of medicines that arrived in the city of Rabak carried “75” thousand units of intravenous salt solutions and “40” thousand of Ringer solutions, in addition to quantities of intravenous solutions and a mixture of salt and sugar intravenous solutions He stated that this shipment would contribute to the stability of the supply. Medicines in the state to confront emergency cases, watery diarrhea, and various fevers facing the state’s residents.

Abdel Baqi explained that most of the solutions that arrived today were completely non-existent in the state, and this coincided with the emergence of cases of watery diarrhea and dengue fever, which claimed the lives of a number of citizens in the northern localities of the state.

The Ministry of Health in White Nile State took measures at the beginning of last October to limit the spread of watery diarrhea and dengue fever, including activating environmental health, food and water safety activities and training volunteers in the community surveillance system at expatriate sites.
