Khartoum, October 15 (Darfur 24)
Identical sources told Al-Sharq Satalite TV channel on Sunday that Washington was conducting consultations with the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid support Forces (RSF )to resume Jeddah negotiations.
Since last July, the Us-saudi-led negotiations between representatives of the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have been halted.
Al-Sharq reported that the Saudi- American mediation is developing a new approach to the negotiating process between the Armed Forces RSF.
Observers expected that the Jeddah Forum would resume negotiations between the two parties after Al-Burhan left the Army General Command in late August.
On September 24, the army commander expressed a conditional readiness to negotiate with the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti.”
Al-Burhan said that he would sit with Hemedti, as long as he was committed to protecting civilians. This is what the two sides pledged during the Jeddah talks last May.
But on the other hand, Al-Burhan faces trends that reject negotiations among the army and Islamic groups accused of controlling the decisions of the army leadership.
