Adila, 5 October (Darfur 24)Armed clashes occurred Wednesday between Rapid Support Force (RSF) and residents in Adila locality of East Darfur State.

The armed confrontation took place at the backdrop of the local residents refusal to allow RSF forces recently arrived from Khartoum entry into the town of Adila.

According to informed sources who spoke to Darfur24 from the cities of Adila and Abu Karinka, members of RSF forces withdrawing from Khartoum decided to visit their families in the city of Adila, which was rejected by local residents, leading to clashes between the two sides.

 

Information posted on socy media stating that RSF members from the Ma’alia tribe withdrew from the field in Khartoum to their hometown in the city of Adila, but according to Darfur 24’s monitoring, the force returned to the region under the guidance of RSF Command.

 

A local community leader, Tariq, told Darfur 24 that the arrival of the force was not as it was rumored to have returned due to disagreements and racial discrimination within RSF Foundation, rather, it was confirmed to them that it was a force affiliated with RSF that came on an official mission with the knowledge and order of its senior leadership.

 

While one of the youth of the area explained that the confrontations took place between the people of the city of Adila, and added: A group of young men with no military affiliation refused to enter the force coming from Khartoum, so they entered into clashes that led to two being injured. They are Ayoub Balila and Abdul Rahman Fund.

 

According to sources from Adila, the forces coming from Khartoum are led by a lieutenant colonel and consist of 14 Land Cruiser combat vehicles and 6 Hilux cars, and that the Ma’alia tribe’s native administration refused the entry of armed vehicles into the city, and proposed establishing a camp to store combat vehicles outside the city.
