Nyala, August 11(Darfur24)Front line defenders organisation which is interested in the affairs of human rights defenders in the world, has condemned the killing of human rights defenders Ahmed Mohamed Abdallah in Darfur, who was killed one after his abduction last week.
The international organization said it believed that Abdallah was killed due to his peaceful human rights work in Darfur.
In a statement seen by Darfur 24, the organisation said human rights defenders in Sudan were subjected to huge risks , due to the parties to the conflict incompliance with Jeddah declaration for the protection of the Sudanese civilians signed on May 11,2023.
Human rights defenders expressed its increasing fear over the spiralling violence in Darfur, and the risky context of the civilians and human rights defenders.
Front line defenders urged the Sudanese authorities to conduct quick, independent and neutral inquiry into the death of human rights defenders Ahmed Mohamed Abdallah.
The organisation also called on the parties to the conflict to fully implement Jeddah declaration which was signed by the two warring parties, and commit themselves to the protection of civilians and human rights defenders in Sudan.
