Ndjamena, August 6(Darfur 24) Ministers of foreign affairs from Sudan’s neighboring countries met Sunday in the Chadian capital Ndjamena to discuss the ongoing conflict in Sudan between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary rapid support forces RSF.
The Chadian foreign ministry issued a press statement, seen by Darfur 24 that the meeting comes as implementation to the directives of the summit of Sudan’s neighbors held on July 13 in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
The summit of Sudan’s neighbors in Cairo last month had called for formation of a ministerial committee tasked with proposing solutions to the four -month old conflict in Sudan.
Chadian foreign ministry said that the initiative was consistent with the spirit of integration that leads to durable and permanent peace in Sudan.
The state of Chad was the second country after Egypt to receive Sudanese refugees fleeing the hell of war in Sudn. tens of thousands of residents from Darfur have fled to Chad since eruption of the conflict between the army and RSF mid-April.
Sudanese refugees in the refugee camps in the border Chadian town of Adre are facing agony due to the shortages of humanitarian aid, despite the huge efforts exerted by the Chadian government to meet the basic needs of refugees.
