Sudanese human rights organisations and local activist said Friday that they have evidence that the powerful paramilitary rapid support forces have detained 5000 people in an inhumane circumstances in the capital Khartoum.
The Rapid Support Forces RSF has been fighting bloody war with the Sudanese army since mid-April, residents have accused of it of looting and occupying homes.
RSF said the allegations of detaining civilians are baseless and its only detaining prisoners of war who are being treated well .
RSF told Reuters that the local human rights organisations turn blind eye to the Army violations of using warplanes, machine guns and distributing weapons to the civilians.
The organisation which preferred its name to be kept anonymous, said RSF detaining fighters, including 3500 civilians, women and foreign nationals.
UN office for the coordination of humanitarian affairs said Thursday that around 87 people were buried in mass grave in the city of El-geneina in West Darfur state, the office accused RSF and its allied Arab militias of being behind the killing, RSF have denied the accusation.
Late Thursday, the International Criminal Court ICC said it would investigate the killing in the area, RSF didn’t respond to the investigation request..
