Nyala June 29(Darfur 24)The city of Nyala, the provincial capital of South Darfur state has witnessed unprecedented hike in the price of consumer goods and fuels as the conflict between the Sudanese army and the powerful Rapid Support Forces RSF enters its third months

Traders in Nyala market told Darfur 24 that the price of a sack of sugar shifted from 33000SDG before the conflict to 120000SDG, while the cooking oil Jerry Can jumped from 25000SDG to 40000SDG.

A trader at the market, Harun Musa Abdulrahman expected prices to soars in the coming months when the local market runs out of the current stock.

Nyala has been witnessing sporadic clashes every week since the conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces RSF erupted mid-April.
