Khartoum, June 16 ( Darfur24) Women and girls in Sudan are subjected to horrific violations, women fleeing the conflict in Sudan reported shocking incidents of sexual violence and sexual exploitation.
Women and girls crossing borders to Chad، CAR , Egypt and South Sudan told UNHCR protection team of the atrocities.
It has been reported that the incidents are committed by fighters, criminals and smugglers against residents in Khartoum and other area as well as against people moving from one place to another..
UNHCR stated that women and girls are the most affected by the sexual violence, but men and boys are also not exempted..
Some women and girls said fighters loot houses and sexually assault women and girls, while others spoke of sexual harassment and sexual exploitation at checkpoints during their to the shores of safety.
Despite existence of human trafficking network, especially in eastern Sudan, but the business has now flourished.
UNHCR has again renewed its call to all countries to open their borders and receive the people fleeing the hell of war in Sudan.
