Khartoum, June 14(Darfur 24).The UN secretary general Antonio expressed Tuesday his grave concern over situation in Darfur, saying he is amazed by by reports of widespread of violence and killing of civilians all over Sudan, especially in El-Geneina, Nyala, kutum and Elfashir due to conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces RSF.
The secretary general of the UN stated that he is deeply concerned by the ethic dimension, violence and reports of sexual violence.
.UN chief renewed his call for to RSF and the Sudanese army to permanently stop fighting, reminding both parties of their duties toward civilians protection.
Antonio also renewed UN commitment to support the people of Sudan, with 9 million people in Darfur in a dire need of humanitarian aid.
UN chief stressed the need to stop looting and expand delivery and distribution of humanitarian aid to reach those in need.
