Elfashir, April 11(Darfur 24) Four policemen were killed and 9 civilians injured, on Tuesday, in two separate incidents in Um Kadada and Al Kuma localities, east of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.
Eyewitnesses told Darfur 24 that the Umm Kadada incident occurred against the background of the looting of a number of camel and sheep by gunmen on Monday evening. A police force traced the looters on Tuesday morning, accompanied by looted animals owners . They clashed with the perpetrators in the Shawqara Mountains, 10 km north of the town of Um Kadada, and the clash resulted in the killing of a policeman and the injury of 7 civilains , they were transferred to El Fasher Hospital..
In the Loabed area, east of El Fasher, a vehicle belonging to the Savings Bank, Al Kuma branch, coming from El Fasher, was shot by unknown gunmen, killing three policemen who were on guard and wounding two bank employees.
According to the testimony of the two injured, who were transferred to El Fasher Hospital for Darfur 24, the perpetrators, after they managed to kill the guards, took sums of money amounting to 60 million Sudanese pounds, which are the salaries of workers in the Al Kuma locality.
