El-Geneina, April 10(Darfur24) Authorities in West Darfur state declared a state of emergency and  imposed  dark-to-dusk curfew  in all parts of the state on Monday   to curb  the  inter-communal  violence  in Forbaranga locality and the city of El Geneina, the state capital, after the killing of a boy this afternoon.

 

A statement from the state security committee, seen by Darfur24, stated that the governor of West Darfur state, Khamis Abkar,  also issued a decree  declaring a state of emergency in West Darfur state.

 

According to the statement, “The state of  emergency  was declared   in the wake of the outbreak of tribal violence today in Fora baranga locality, which led to the death of a number of citizens and the burning of some homes and properties.”
