Zalengie, February 10(Darfur24) The motorcade of the Central Darfur state governor was exposed to heavy gunfire, near Geldo, east of Zalingei, the capital of Central Darfur state.
A man accompanying the governor of Central Darfur said in exclusive statements to Darfur24 that the governor of Central Darfur, Saad Adam Abkar, and the state security committee were on an inspection visit to the Gildo area in Jebel Marra, against the backdrop of several complaints from citizens about the blocking of the main road by an armed group that imposes financial fees on vehicles operating in that area.
He stated that the governor agreed with the armed group to open the road for smooth movement of vehicles , and added: On his return to the city of Zalingei, his governor’s convoy came under heavy fire from several sides that resulted in the wounding of three people.
