Nyala, February 7, (Darfur24) The fact-finding committee investigating the bloody incidents of Beleiel locality submitted its report on Monday to the acting Governor of South Darfur State , honorable Bashir Mersal Hasabal at his office in Nyala .
Some villages in Beleil locality witnessed attacks by gunmen in December\, which resulted in killing 11 people, wounding others, and burning 8 villages, in addition to displacement of thousands from their habitual residence .
Speaking to reporters after meeting the investigation committee,, acting governor of South Darfur said the report will be presented to the State Security Committee, and the Sovereignty Council will be notified of it, stressing that the report will be shared with relevant agencies to put an end to all conflicts and lawlessness in the state, stating that the committee made a great effort to accomplish its tasks and clarify the facts.
Darfur 24 has learned that the security forces arrested a number of suspects that their identities will be declared during the visit of the deputy head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo to the State.
The Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, visited the areas two days after occurrence of the bloody incidents , and pledged to pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice. He also stressed that the investigation into the incidents would be transparent.
