Khartoum, January 3(Darfur 24) Two sources in the Forces for Freedom and Change FFC told Darfur 24 that the meeting with the director of Egyptian intelligence, Abbas Kamel, yesterday, Monday, in Khartoum, discussed Egypt proposal to host “Sudanese-Sudanese” dialogue in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
Kamel, who visited the country yesterday, Monday, held a number of meetings with the army commander, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and FFC leadership to pave the way for understandings between the Sudanese political forces.
According to the sources, the director of intelligence conveyed the invitation of the Egyptian leadership to the Sudanese political forces to visit Cairo.
An informed source in the Central Council of “Darfur 24” reported that its bloc clearly rejected Egypt’s invitation, adhering to the framework agreement signed between it, the army commander and the rapid support commander in early December.
Although Egypt, in an official statement, welcomed the framework agreement after signing it, the Egyptian position during the negotiations was firm against the agreement.
Kamel’s visit comes before the launch of FFC central council workshops to discuss the five deferred issues, and there are reports about a proposal that goes beyond the framework agreement to a declaration of principles, in an attempt to bridge the views of the “freedom and change” parties.
