Nyala, December 23, (Darfur24) At least three people were killed and five others injured, including three government forces as herdsmen clash with farmers in a number of areas east of Beleil, South Darfur state.
Eyewitness, Ibrahim Ali, from the Umm Trina area, told Darfur 24 that separate attacks on a number of areas resulted in the death of 3 people and the wounding of 5, including 3 of the security forces.
While high-ranking security sources confirmed that the areas of “Amuri, Hamida, Um Trina, Takla, Abu Adam” in the locality of Beleil were attacked by unknown gunmen onboard four-wheel drive vehicles.
The source, who preferred to withhold his name, told Darfur 24 that the joint forces intervened to protect civilians, but the gunmen forced the forces to withdraw due to their armament, which outperformed the armament of the forces.
Eyewitnesses from the city of Bilil, 25 km east of Nyala, the state capital, said that they saw thick plumes of smoke in the northeast direction of the city and heard gunshots .
