Khartoum, December 14(Darfur24) Darfur 24 learned from official sources that the security forces deployed in the border strip with Chad prevented two French diplomats from approaching the Sudanese-Chadian border.
On Wednesday, the French ambassador to Sudan, Rajaa Rabie, concluded a three-day visit to the state of West Darfur, during which she held official and popular meetings and foreign organizations working in the state.
Sources told Darfur 24 that two members of the delegation accompanying the ambassador, consisting of six people, left the city of El Geneina yesterday, Tuesday, without the knowledge of the official authorities, heading towards the “Isnga” border area, and in mysterious circumstances.
The sources indicated that the security forces stationed at the borders stopped the diplomatic delegation and inquired about the necessary procedures for the movement of foreigners and the purpose of the visit.
The sources added that the delegation explained to the security forces that their visit comes to stand on the border areas.
The sources stated that the security forces refused the presence of the French delegation at the border, and ordered their immediate return to the city of El Geneina escorted by a military vehicle.
