Khartoum, October 31(Darfur24) The breast plastic surgery specialist, Dr. Muawiya Ali Daboura, attributed the high rate of late detection of breast cancer in women to the lack of a device for examining microscopic cells in the breast in a number of cities in the  capital and the states.

Dabora said during the closing event of (Pink October) organized by the Sudanese Journalists Syndicate in cooperation with the media initiative of Lamia Mutawakil to raise awareness of breast cancer and the Unified Doctors Office in the Family Club Monday, October 31 , he said that the cost of the device, amounting to 250 thousand dollars which  is equivalent to 100 billion made  it difficult for manyinstitutions to buy it despite its importance.

He pointed out that 60 to 80% of cases are detected in the third or fourth stage, and that 1 out of 8 women in Sudan develops breast cancer.

Deborah said that the infection of breast cancer among women is 30-40% compared to other cancers.

The program, which started at 11 am, included awareness lectures and stories of women who managed to overcome the disease.

The Gender Secretary of the Sudanese Journalists Syndicate, Lubna Abdullah, called for the need to transfer awareness programs and free examination to remote states and villages where the infected women suffer from difficulty receiving the dose due to the distance and the absence of specialized health centers.
