Nyala, October 29(Darfurt24) The Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahed Mohamed Nour, warned of possible confrontations with the government forces in the Jebel Marra areas, saying that any attack from the government side would prompt it to reconsider the ceasefire decision .
Thirteen members of a faction that broke away from Abdel Wahed Nur’s movement were killed in clashes with the Sudan Liberation Movement last week in Jebel Marra, and 15 others were seriously wounded, some of whom were transferred to El Fasher for treatment.
The movement said in a press statement seen by Darfur24 that the government moved on Thursday, October 27, a force aboard 30 Land Cruiser cars from the rapid support Forces and its collaborators from the city of El Fasher to the lands controlled by the movement.
According to the statement , the information available to the movement indicates that the forces are planning an attack on the areas controlled by the movement.
The statement added, “Any attack on our areas of control by the militias of the coup government and their hired and fallen associates will face a thunderbolt response.”
The movement warned the coup government of the consequences of any foolish behavior that might lead Sudan to unimaginable consequences, and ignite a war that it cannot pay its bill ,as the statement put it.
The movement said that any attack on its areas of control constitutes a declaration of war, and will prompt it to unilaterally reconsider cessation of hostilities.
