Khartoum, October 26(Darfur24) The European Union EU announced, on Tuesday, that it continues to demand the immediate return of civilian  transition and dialogue in Sudan.

 

EU also  called on the parties to the crisis to show courage and political will in order to reach a political settlement out of the current impasse.

 

 In a statement marking the one-year anniversary of the military coup, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, called on the army to respect human rights and international humanitarian law.

 

Josep Borrell  held the army responsible for the deteriorating economic, security and humanitarian situation.

 

 Borrell  called on all parties to work with the tripartite mechanism for the sake of the national interest to reach a fair and balanced deal and bring the transition back to the right track.

 

 He stressed the need to allow the Sudanese people to assemble peacefully, and called on the authorities and security forces to exercise restraint, protect lives, and freedom of expression and assembly throughout the country.
