Nyala, October 25(Darfur25) Thousands of Sudanese protesters   took to the streets in a number of cities in the country in processions rejecting October 25 coup  on its first anniversary,   demanding  an end to the coup and the restoration of the civil regime to complete the transitional period.

 

In the city of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, the procession moved from the cinema round about  in the center of the city towards the Legislative Council  round about, while  Darfur24 correspondent in Nyala said that the procession adhered to the peaceful and the paths set by the resistance committees and the revolutionary forces, at a time when  the protesters  did not face any objection or harassment from the security forces.

 

While Darfur24 monitored the great preparations of the security forces and the assembly of a number of military vehicles in the Nyala Central Police Headquarters, in addition to the suspension of studies at the primary and secondary levels in the city’s schools.

 

On October 25, the commander of the Sudanese army, Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan,  staged a military   coup against the civilian component of the transitional government, under the pretext of correcting the course of the Sudanese revolution.

 

Several initiatives have been taken to end the political deadlock , starting with the dialogue initiative led by the UNITAMS mission, and the initiative of the tripartite mechanism led by the UNIAMS mission alongside the African Union and the IGAD, in addition to another trilateral initiative that includes the United States of America, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, where all of them failed to reach consensus.
