Khartoum, October 24(Darfur24) The tripartite mechanism, which is leading the negotiations between the parties to the Sudanese crisis, expressed, on Monday, its deep sadness and deep regret over the killing of a young protester, by security forces during the dispersal of anti-coup protests Sunday, October 23 in Khartoum.
According to a statement by the mechanism , which Darfur received 24 copies of, the tripartite mechanism calls for a credible investigation into the killing of protester, Issa Omar al-Bahi to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable.
With the first anniversary of the October 25, 2021 coup, the tripartite mechanism urges the security forces to exercise the utmost discipline and protect the protesters’ rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly.
“ Any act of violence is unacceptable and would undermine efforts to reach a solution to the political crisis in Sudan, therefore, we call on everyone to avoid any provocative actions” the mechanism added
