Khartoum, September 26(Darfur24) Head of the Advisory Council for Forensic Medicine at the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Aqeel Siwar Al-Dhahab, affirmed that the ministry  would not back down  from the autopsy and burial of the unidentified bodies in the morgues of the capital, Khartoum,.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Siwar al-Dhahab said  the forensic medicine department  will  proceed with the implementation of the mission and the autopsy and burial of the bodies in accordance with medical ethics, and nothing will stop them.

17  entities , including the Families of the Missing , the Missing Initiative, the Central Committee of Sudan Doctors, emergency lawyers, and the Martyrs’ Families Organization, announced their complete refusal to bury the bodies without following international protocols.

 Forensic dentistry consultant Dr. Khaled Mohamed Khaled said that the process of nominating and burying the bodies, scheduled to start on September 25, has been postponed for further consultation with the families of the missing for a specific period.

The Missing Initiative, in cooperation with the Association of Families of the Missing, organized a protest sit-in in front of the Public Prosecution – on Sunday – in rejection of the decision of the Public Prosecutor in charge of burying the unidentified bodies.

Dr. Khaled described the accusation of the forensic medicine institution as a whole of lack of credibility as illogical and acceptable, and said that he does not deny the existence of corrupt doctors who gave misleading information about some of the martyrs and the missing;

 Forensic medicine and toxicology consultant, Dr. Mahjoub Babiker, feared an outbreak of plague in areas near the morgues.

 The director of the Umbada mortuary, Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Al-Sheikh, said that the mortuary, which was opened on the 23rd of last September, received within “3” days only “10” unidentified bodie
